This Park is used by hundreds of dog walkers from all over the Shire, many on a daily basis. It works brilliantly – it is as though the whole park has been sprayed with happy gas and is the perfect snapshot of the happy Australian family out with their children and dogs HAVING FUN!!

This post contains the details and information for the changes with regards to Dogs in the La Balsa/Pt Cartwright reserve area. Read on to see what is proposed to be changed, and how you can put your submission to council in response.

Cr Thompson looked a little surprised to find many passionate people attending the consultation meeting, who all were very concerned about the proposed law changes which would reduce the amount of area to exercise a dog off leash to completely exclude La Balsa park and most of Point Cartwright reserve.

We now have a Parliamentary Petition to go to state parliament in our attempt to change the QLD state law to allow leashed companion dogs into alfresco cafes at the cafe owners discretion. Unfortunately it has to be a Parliamentary petition sponsored by an MP - Steve Dickson from Buderim has sponsored it for us and we are good to go.
http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/view/EPetitions_QLD/CurrentEPetition.aspx?PetNum=1483&lIndex=-1
If you want a paper petition please email pupsinparadise@gmail.com and I will send it to you. We will need thousands of signatures and we need them by 18th Oct . Thank you for your support
